Local beaches

Looe Beach and Talland Bay are the 2 nearest beaches to Granite Henge, but there are lots more beaches in Cornwall if you want to travel a little further. Click on our beach guide to find out more. 

Looe 

Looe is a busy and popular harbour town only about 2 miles away and offers a safe bathing beach as well as other activities including boat trips up the river and fishing trips. The town is split into East and West Looe and are joined together by a bridge across the river. There is a putting green and tennis courts in West looe with fine views over Looe Island.

East Looe boasts lots of pubs and restaurants and it is an ideal place to visit all year round. Looe has been voted the 3rd best place in the UK to enjoy the New Year celebrations. Find out more here.

Polperro

Polperro is a picture book harbour village with narrow winding streets, cottages perched on steep slopes which overlook a small harbour. Polperro offers beautiful views, access to the South West Coast Path, interesting shops as well as great pubs and restaurants. If you want to find out more about Polperro then click here.

Fowey 


Fowey is a deep water harbour town about 10 miles from Granite Henge via the Bodinnick Ferry. Fowey is famous for being the home of Daphne Du Maurier. It has a good selection of local shops, pubs and restaurants, and also has a secluded beach at Readymoney Cove. Find out more about Fowey by clicking here
